Proverbs 14:16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
Wisdom respects and departs from evil.
When a hurricane comes, this makes me think of those that refuse to evacuate when warned to do so. We can predict certain evils in our future and should run from them with respect of their power.
The Bible tells of evil.
We can predict certain devastation from it. We should respect and heed the warnings to evacuate from the certain devastation from it.
Fools pass on and are confident in their ability to conquer evil.
Then there are those that stay behind. “I will hunker down and stay the course through the storm.” Some will soon be on their roof or in their attic awaiting rescue. How much easier to just listen to the warnings?
I also find it interesting how the fool rages. This literally means to pass over (ignore) or to pass on (share with others). The fools that ignore are destroying themselves. But those that share their foolishness are destroying others. Beware of the fool that preys on the simple one with their rage and confidence in their own knowledge instead of the wisdom from God.
