Why Do You Do What You Do?

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

This verse talks about whatever we do, should be done for God. What is your motivation? Is it self seeking or God pleasing?

If the only reason you are doing things is for self satisfaction or the approval of others, you will fail. We will never be satisfied and the opinion of others is fickle.

Yet if we are motivated by pleasing God, we have definite guidelines in the Bible. Be sure to also have a thankful spirit to God in all you experience. For even in the worst of times, He is there and has a reason for the situation.

God is never surprised by what we are going through.
