Psalm 42:11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul?Â
--are you living in a cast down state of mind? Â Why? Â
Why art thou disquieted within me?Â
--are you in a constant state of distress? Â Why?
Hope thou in God:Â
--where is your hope? Â If you, on purpose, place your hope in God...you don't need to be cast down. Â You also don't need to live in disquiet or constant stress.
For I shall yet praise him,Â
--can you praise him in the good and bad time? Â Can you tust Him and His wisdom for your life? Â Will you still praise God even when things are not going your way?
Who is the health of my countenance,Â
--health, salvation or deliverance
--countenance, presence or position
--is God really in control of my situation? Â Yes! Â
Who is my God?
--it all boils down to this. Â Who is my God? Â Am I serving Him or me? Â If I'm living a life that is cast down or in disquiet all the time, it might be because I am serving me and not Him.
