David did not attack his enemy.
God killed the enemy.
David was thankful that he had not acted in haste in this situation and allowed the Lord to handle the situation.
Who is against me? Am I willing to wait and allow the Lord to be the one that takes care of them?
1 Samuel 24:12 The Lord judge between me and thee, and the Lord avenge me of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
God is able to avenge me and how much better can she do it than I?
