Truly Sorry

Psalm 38:18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

I wonder if I am faithful to declare my iniquities, also if I actually am sorry for my sin?

Sometimes we just go through the motions in our prayer time.  Do we really confess sins?  I mean, we are not committing gross sins...so what is there to confess?  

I know there are sins of omission...not doing what we are supposed to do and then sins of commission...doing what we are not supposed to.  

It is too easy to just finish our prayer time without digging in and inspecting our hearts and confessing both types of personal sin.  

The part about being sorry for it is a whole different subject.  We can't be like those that apologize to us, "I'm sorry IF I offended you".  We must truly be sorry and seek forgiveness.
