Zechariah 7:9-10 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying,

Execute true judgment, and

shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: [10] And

oppress not the widow,

nor the fatherless,

the stranger,

nor the poor; and

let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Compassion: sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others

Oppress: to press upon, oppress, violate, defraud, do violence, get deceitfully, wrong, extort

Imagine: to think, plan, esteem, calculate, invent, make a judgment, imagine, count

We are to have compassion on others. Especially those in need. At the same time we are not to plan evil against our brother.

So how is compassion level? What about your oppression level? Do you have thoughts of oppression against others? How are you thinking about your brothers and sisters in Christ? Even if it is just thoughts in your heart against them, it is not what God wants.

I began to record my thoughts each day from my devotions many years ago. I love to use the dictionary to expand my understanding of the Bible. I started sharing them with others and decided to create a place to share them more easily. I pray these nuggets are an encouragement to you.
