Psalm 61:1-2 [1] Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. [2] From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Been a bit overwhelmed lately?
Have a bunch of discouraging things hitting you at once?
Sometimes I have things happen that I have no power over, absolutely no control over (and I'm a bit of a control freak). Â I have to continually give and re-give each situation to God to take care of. Â
Here is where I am completely understanding the "cry unto thee" part. Â
I'm so glad He is the Rock that is higher than I am. Â That He is above the fray and sees the big picture. Â That He knows the beginning from the end. Â That He is in complete control of each situation.
Philippians 4:17,19 [17] Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. [19] But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I don’t have to do it all alone!
It may not be easy to be the one on the receiving end—especially if you’ve usually been the first one to help other people. But with humility, we can allow God to gently care for us by a variety of means when we need help.
