Jonah 2:7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
Fainted - grow weak or feeble; decline
There is a lot going on in our world today that can wear you down. Do you feel yourself growing weak? When you do...remember the Lord!
Remember He is....
Infinite - Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
We are unique beings. We consist differently. That is okay. When you think of soup can you compare its consistency to that of meatloaf? Which is better? Wait a minute, they are two completely different things. Exactly! Even in soup there are extreme differences from a brothy one to a thick creamy one. Is one right and one wrong? No, they just have a different consistency.
We are like that. God had created some of us to be like that brothy soup and others to be a meatloaf. The real key here is to be what God has made us to be.
Unchanging - Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Self-sufficient - John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
Omni-potent - Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Omniscient - Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Omnipresent - Psalm 139:7-10 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
Wise - Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Faithful - Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
Good - Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Just - Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Merciful - Romans 9:15-16 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
Gracious - Psalm 145:8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
Loving - 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Holy - Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him ; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
Glorious - Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
