Love One Another

John 13:34-35 [34] A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Love one another. Sometimes love is hard. Love is not always the nice stuff. Sometimes you have to scold or stand up against what your loved ones are doing. It is not for their best for them to continue down the path they are on. It’s not for the best of those around them for them to continue their behavior. Think of your children misbehaving. Do you allow them to continue because you don’t want to offended or hurt their feelings? No! You address their inappropriate behavior for their growth and for those around them. You do this because it is best for them to stop that behavior. Sometimes you need to stand up against the misbehavior of those around you. Do it in love. Do it for the right reason. Do it for the best of all involved. If we allow them to continue, is that showing love?

Can others tell that I am a disciples? Is it evident? Do I exhibit love toward others in such a way that I magnify God's love for them? This is a challenging thought today.

I began to record my thoughts each day from my devotions many years ago. I love to use the dictionary to expand my understanding of the Bible. I started sharing them with others and decided to create a place to share them more easily. I pray these nuggets are an encouragement to you.
