In the Midst

Proverbs 5:14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

On the verge of total ruin…that is the note in my Bible about this. 

Midst-

1. : the interior or central part or point : middle. in the midst of the forest.

2. : a position of proximity to the members of a group.

The part that stands out to me in this verse is how the author was in the midst of the congregation, yet on the verge of complete ruin. He was a core member of the church yet on the edge. I wonder if he was able to hide his true condition. How many of those church members around us are on the verge of ruin? Be kind to those around you and never assume where they are at or what they are going through.
