1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
...but God is faithful...
May sound sacrilegious, but I think of a faithful dog.
I thought of Charlie, every day waiting for dad to come home. He knew when it was time for him to return. He would wait at the top of the stairs. He would watch out the window and listen intently for the sound of his truck. He was so very happy when dad returned he had to grab something to greet him with (so very golden retriever of him). It did not matter what dad did, Charlie was faithful. Charlie loved dad.
Doesn't matter what temptation we have fallen under, God is faithfully "waiting at the top of the stairs". God does not want us to suffer. He has provided a way of escape so that we can bear the temptations.
