Proverbs 5:1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:
Two things here. Both addressed to the son.
Attend unto my wisdom-pay attention to it, heed it.
Bow thine ear-submit to it, listen to it
Have you ever taunted the dog worth things like..."Do you want a treat?", "Do you want to go outside?". It's fun to watch them cock their head to one side as you say the key words. This is what I think of when I read "bow thine ear".
We need to be more like the loyal pet attending to the Father's speech, we need to bow our ear to hear what He is saying.
