2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Long-suffering to us.
Not willing that any should perish.
That all should repent.
God wants us all to repent and live a full life with Him. He doesn't want us to perish. He is willing to wait for us to come to our senses and trust Him. Much of our suffering in life is by our own choices. Choosing His ways brings peace. But, He is long-suffering and not willing that any should perish.
I was just talking to my husband about someone who is stuck in their past. They have spun their past in their minds to be this horrible experience that everyone should hear about. But in reality, they are just fighting against God. Not willing to follow Him and blaming their parents and other Christians for all that has gone wrong in their life. When in reality it is the choices made by themselves.
The key here is that God is long-suffering, yet we need to come to repentance. He will not force us. He is waiting for us. He is not willing that any should perish.
