

Psalm 1:1-2 [1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Blessed - Happy; prosperous in worldly affairs; enjoying spiritual happiness and the favor of God; enjoying heavenly felicity.
is the man that walketh not in the counsel -, Advice; opinion, or instruction, given upon request or otherwise, for directing the judgment or conduct of another; opinion given upon deliberation or consultation.
of the ungodly, - Wicked; impious; neglecting the fear and worship of God, or violating his commands
nor standeth - To be on its foundation; not to be overthrown or demolished
in the way of sinners, - Tendency to any meaning or act... One that has voluntarily violated the divine law; a moral agent who has voluntarily disobeyed any divine precept, or neglected any known duty.
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. - To exercise authority; as, to sit in judgment... holding religion in contempt; treating with disdain religion and the dispensations of God.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; - A high degree of pleasure, or satisfaction of mind; joy in the Word of God
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.- To dwell on any thing in thought; to contemplate; to study; to turn or revolve any subject in the mind; appropriately but not exclusively used of pious contemplation, or a consideration of the great truths of religion.
