Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God...

Be still,

When all the problems of today are swirling around us.  Be still.  Stop for a second.  Take a step back and assess the situation.

  • BE:  To be fixed; to exist; to have a real state or existence, for a longer or shorter time.

  • STILL: To appease; to calm; to quiet; as tumult, agitation or excitement;

  • And know,

  • KNOW: To perceive with certainty; to understand clearly; to have a clear and certain perception of truth, fact, or any thing that actually exists.

I am God.

One of my children was more easily freaked out than the others.  Many a time I would have to make her stop and hit the reset button.

I think this verse is sorta like that.  No matter how great the distress around us is...be still, and know that I am God is very comforting.

God has not lost control of our situation.  When we are freaking out, we need to remember that.

I began to record my thoughts each day from my devotions many years ago. I love to use the dictionary to expand my understanding of the Bible. I started sharing them with others and decided to create a place to share them more easily. I pray these nuggets are an encouragement to you.
